General tasks and repeats
Add workshop tasks that are not tied to a vehicle, schedule them for a day, and set them to repeat.
General tasks are workshop tasks that are not about a specific vehicle, such as cleaning the workshop or emptying the bins. They sit on the same week calendar as vehicle tasks and you complete them the same way.
Before you start
- You need Workshop edit permission to add or change general tasks.
Adding a general task
- Open the Workshop calendar.
- Select Add general task.
- Enter a title, and optionally a description and an assignee.
- Choose the day the task should be done.
- Select Add task.
The task appears on that day. You can drag it to another day or onto a person to assign it, exactly like a vehicle task.
Making a task repeat
When adding a general task, set Repeat to one of:
- Daily: every working day. Days your workshop is closed are skipped.
- Weekly: the same weekday each week.
- Every 2 weeks: the same weekday every second week.
- Monthly: the same date each month. If a month is too short, the task lands on the last day of that month.
Set Repeat until to the last date you want it to run, or leave it blank to repeat indefinitely. Upcoming occurrences are added to the calendar automatically, so the task is always waiting on its day.
Stopping a repeat
Open any occurrence of the task and select Stop repeating. This ends the whole schedule: future occurrences are removed from the calendar, while anything already completed stays in your history. Stopping a repeat affects every future occurrence, not just one day.
Completing a general task
Open the task and mark it done. You can add a completion note. General tasks do not record parts, photos, or vehicle costs, because they are not linked to a vehicle.
