Adding a customer

Create a customer record from the Customers list.

Customer records hold a buyer's contact details and anchor everything else: linked vehicles, agreed prices, payments, and outstanding balances.

Before you start

  • You need Customers edit permission.
  • You're on the Customers list.

Adding a customer

  1. Click Add customer at the top-right of the list.
  2. Fill in the form in the side sheet.
  3. Click Add customer.

The sheet closes and the new record appears in the list.

Fields

  • First name and Surname: between them at least one has to be filled in. The full name is stored as a single value, built from first name and surname with a single space between.
  • Company: optional. If you're selling to a dealership or company buyer, fill this in.
  • Email address: optional.
  • Telephone number: optional.

What happens next

The customer appears in the list but has no vehicles, payments, or outstanding balance yet. To connect a vehicle, open that vehicle's detail page and use Allocate customer on the Customer Sale tab. See the linked article below for the full flow.
