The customer detail page

Contact details, payments summary, linked vehicles, and how to edit or delete a customer.

Updated Apr 18, 2026

The customer detail page is the single view of everything tied to one customer. Open it by clicking any row on the Customers list.

Before you start

  • You need Customers view permission.
  • You need Customers edit permission to use Edit customer or Delete customer.

The header

The customer's name is the main heading. If a company is set, it shows beneath the name.

When a customer is archived, an Archived pill appears next to their name so you know at a glance.

The action bar on the right has:

  • Edit customer: opens a sheet with the same fields as Add customer.
  • Archive / Unarchive: hides the customer from the Allocate customer picker on vehicles while keeping every linked vehicle intact. Reversible. See Archiving a customer.
  • Delete customer: opens an inline confirmation panel. Permanent. Blocked when the customer has linked vehicles. See Deleting a customer.

Contact card

Email and telephone, side by side. If both are blank you see "No contact details".

Payments card

Two numbers rolled up across every vehicle linked to this customer:

  • Outstanding: agreed sale prices minus payments received.
  • Total paid: payments received.

Both are shown in your organisation's accounting currency and rounded to whole units. When the customer has no linked vehicles both show a dash.

You cannot edit these directly from the customer page. They come from each linked vehicle's Customer Sale tab, and they update automatically when you add a payment, change an agreed price, or link or unlink a vehicle.

Vehicles

Every vehicle currently linked to this customer appears in the Vehicles table with:

  • Photo thumbnail
  • Stock number (linked to the vehicle detail page)
  • Make, model, year
  • Current stage pill, plus a Reserved badge because the vehicle is linked to a customer
  • Total: agreed sale price
  • Paid: payments received
  • Outstanding: agreed price minus paid

Click any row to jump straight to that vehicle. When no vehicles are linked, the table shows "No vehicles".

Editing a customer

  1. Click Edit customer.
  2. Update any of the fields. Name is still split into first name and surname, and the two are joined with a space on save.
  3. Click Save changes.

Existing links to vehicles and payment history are unaffected.

What the page doesn't do

You can't add a vehicle, record a payment, or change an agreed price from this page. Each of those lives on the vehicle's own Customer Sale tab, because sale data belongs to a specific vehicle, not a customer as a whole. Linked from the sales article below.
