The Customers list
What the Customers list shows, how to search it, and how to open a customer record.
The Customers list is where every customer record lives. You land here from the sidebar, you search for a customer by name, company, or email, and you click through to their detail page to see what they've bought, paid, and still owe.
Before you start
- You need Customers view permission to open the list.
- You need Customers edit permission to add a new one.
What each row shows
- Name (linked to the customer's detail page)
- Company (or a dash when none is set)
- Vehicles: how many vehicles are currently linked to this customer
- Paid: the total paid across every linked vehicle
- Outstanding: the total outstanding balance across every linked vehicle
- Status: Active or Archived
The Paid and Outstanding columns show a dash when the customer has no linked vehicles. Archived customers still appear on the list so you can search for them and open their history; they only disappear from the Allocate customer picker on vehicle detail pages.
Searching
Use the search box at the top-right to filter by name, company, or email. Matching is case-insensitive and partial, so "ac" matches "Acme Autos". The search is debounced, so there's a short pause while the list updates.
Phone numbers aren't searchable. If you need to find a record by phone, search by the customer's name or company instead.
Page size and pagination
Choose 20, 50, or 100 rows per page. The default is 20. Your search and page size are preserved as you move between pages.
Empty states
- With no search applied and no customers yet: a short prompt to add your first one.
- With a search applied and no matches: "No customers match
"..."."
Opening a customer
