You've been invited: what to do next
What to do when a colleague invites you to an ImportOps organisation, and what you'll see before and after your admin finishes setup.
You've been invited to an ImportOps organisation. This article walks through accepting the invite, setting up your account, and what to expect in the first day or two.
Accepting your invite
- Open the invite email and click the link
- Set your password
Setting up your account
You'll land on Settings → Account.
- Fill in your first name and last name if they aren't already populated
- Upload an avatar if you like. It's optional, but it makes you easier to recognise in activity feeds.
- If your organisation requires two-factor authentication, follow the on-screen wizard to enrol
More detail on every account setting is in Account & profile basics.
What you can do right now
There are two cases.
If your admin has already finished setting up the organisation, you have access to the sections your role permits. Take a look at Navigating the app for a tour.
If your admin hasn't finished organisation setup yet, you'll only see Account in the sidebar until they complete it. This is intentional, so team members don't see half-configured settings. When your admin clicks Finish setup and continue, the full sidebar appears.
If something isn't working
- "No organisation" screen on sign-in: you've been removed from the organisation (or weren't fully added). Contact your admin; they'll need to invite you again from Settings → Team & roles.
- Invite link expired or doesn't work: ask your admin to resend it from the same page.
- You can sign in but the sidebar is almost empty: your role may not have any view permissions enabled. Ask your admin to check your role's permissions.
