Notification defaults for your organisation
Set the default notification switches for every member of your team, grouped by vehicle, workshop, and system events.
Notification defaults let you decide which notifications your team receives out of the box. Individual members can still change their own preferences, but the org defaults are what every new member inherits and what every existing member starts with.
Before you start
- You need to be an admin.
- You're on Settings → Notification defaults.
How defaults and personal preferences fit together
- Org default ON: every member gets the notification unless they turn it off for themselves.
- Org default OFF: no member gets the notification unless they turn it on for themselves.
- Personal preference always wins for that individual member.
This means you can set a sensible baseline for your team without forcing anything; members who want more or fewer notifications can adjust on their own Notifications page.
Categories
Events are grouped into three categories:
- Vehicle: stage changes, cost updates, customer-sale events, document changes, and other vehicle activity.
- Workshop: task assignments and completion events.
- System: account and authentication events, billing warnings, and other organisation-wide signals.
Each event has a short description so you can decide whether to turn it on for your team.
Changing a default
Toggle the switch next to the event. The change saves automatically and a brief "Saved" indicator confirms.
Existing members who haven't overridden that event pick up the new default straight away. Members who've already customised their own preferences keep their personal setting.
Good practice
- Turn on Vehicle defaults for teams where everyone is involved in every deal. Turn some off for larger teams where a cost update on a vehicle you aren't working on would be noise.
- Workshop defaults are most useful for organisations with a dedicated workshop team. Office-only roles often turn these off on their own page.
- System defaults are typically ON for admins and OFF for non-admins.
Personal preferences
For each member's own view, direct them to Settings → Notifications. That page mirrors the defaults and overrides them per member.
