Adding a supplier

Create a supplier record from the Suppliers list and fill in the rest of the profile on the detail page.

Updated Apr 29, 2026

Adding a supplier is a two-step flow. You create the record from a side panel on the list, then land on the detail page to finish the profile (address, payment terms, website, currency, and notes).

Before you start

  • You need Suppliers edit permission.
  • You're on the Suppliers list.

Step 1: create the record

  1. Click Add supplier at the top-right of the list. A side panel opens.
  2. Fill in the form:
    • Supplier name (required)
    • Contact name (optional)
    • Email (optional)
    • Phone (optional)
    • Supplier type (optional: Auction house, Exporter, Dealer, Broker or agent, Private seller, Other)
    • City (optional)
    • Country (optional)
  3. Click Add supplier.

The supplier is created and you're taken straight to its detail page.

Step 2: fill in the rest of the profile

In the Supplier profile section, click Edit to add the fields the side panel didn't cover:

  • Address (line 1, line 2, postal code)
  • Website
  • Preferred currency (three-letter code, for example JPY)
  • Payment terms (free text, for example Net 30)
  • Supplier notes (short shared context for your team)

Click Save supplier when you're done. A Supplier details updated entry is added to the activity timeline.

What happens next

The supplier appears in the Suppliers list with status Active, and is available in the supplier picker on the vehicle detail page so your team can link vehicles to them. Linking a vehicle is covered in Vehicles & Pipeline.
