Editing a supplier profile

Update contact, address, supplier type, payment terms, and other profile fields on a supplier.

Updated Apr 18, 2026

The supplier profile holds everything your team needs to work with a supplier: who to contact, where they're based, how you pay them, and any shared context you want to record.

Before you start

  • You need Suppliers edit permission.
  • You're on the supplier's detail page.

Opening the form

In the Supplier profile section, click Edit. The read-only cards switch to a grid of fields, each editable.

Fields

  • Supplier name (required).
  • Contact name: the person your team deals with.
  • Email and Phone.
  • Address line 1, Address line 2, City, Postal code, Country.
  • Supplier type: one of Auction house, Exporter, Dealer, Broker or agent, Private seller, Other. Choose "Not set" to leave blank.
  • Website: free text, typically a full URL.
  • Preferred currency: free text, three-letter codes like JPY or GBP are typical. This helps the team know which currency this supplier invoices in.
  • Payment terms: free text like Net 30 or 50% deposit on order.
  • Supplier notes: shared context for your team. Keep this short; it's a single-line field.

Saving

Click Save supplier. A Supplier details updated entry is added to the activity timeline. The read-only cards reappear with the new values.

Cancelling

Click Cancel to discard any edits and return to the read-only view. The fields reset to their saved values.

What the profile doesn't hold

  • Per-vehicle details (purchase price, cost rows, payments) live on each vehicle, not the supplier.
  • Supplier documents (invoices, contracts, scans) live in the Documents panel below the profile. Upload them there. Covered in Uploading supplier documents.
